The Kval M-3000 Deep Pocket Lock Mortiser is designed for use in line with either the KVAL Architect or KVAL Commander or standing alone, lock and hinge processors, or other door machines that can cut a strike plate for a deep pocket. The M-3000 completes the process by mortising up to 10" long and 5 - 1/2' deep. Mortise width is determined by bit size.

Machine features include an inverted caster table for easy door positioning against either a right or left hand doorstop. The belt driving spindle is powered by a 7- 1/2 HP HIGH FREQUENCY MOTOR, and turns at approximately 9000 RPM. 

In operation the door is manually positioned by the operator against a stop and pressing a pedal clamps it in place with air cylinders. The automatic mortising sequence is started by push-button, and typically requires 30-40 seconds. To minimize over all machine length the M-300 routing carriage is supported on four 1-" linear bearings so it can be quickly adjusted with reference to the doors top. To adjust the operator releases a wing lever, rolls the mortising carriage to appropriate position using a scale and indicator, then retightens the wing lever.
